I have no idea. It's just a random, high number. I use it in all sorts of writing, eg for newspaper articles.
"The Prime Minister said [cont. pg. 973]"
or
"973 gibbons were stolen yesterday"
etc

That website is out of date then. You're on Lawrencium which, you'll be happy to know, is radioactive.

I'm on Iridium at the moment.
A lot of the later elements are named after famous scientists or the place that they were isolated.
